Nigel B Douglas Golf Course Architect
History and Experience
Nigel B Douglas is an Australian Golf Course Architect, with design offices in Victoria, Australia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He has been fully immersed in the field of golf course architecture since 1994, over which time he has continually refined and rationalised his design ideals, which were published in 2004, in a book entitled
Golf Course Design - Modern Day Issues and Experiences
He holds a passion for the game of golf that goes beyond tournaments and competition, to the personal benefits the game can bring to those who play the game, and those who they, in turn, affect.
In design he strives to produce creative and innovative solutions that challenge golfers to look within to find playing success through inner strength, self control and a thoughtful approach to creative shotmaking.
His designs are meticulously thought-out to produce the greatest overall benefit to clients, golfers and the land.
He believes that all design decisions -however creative- be they generalised principles or minute detail, should be justifiable by logic and common sense.
"Le sens commun n'est pas si commun" (Common sense is not so common)
