Golf Architecture Made Easy.com draws its information from the experiences and theories of
Nigel B Douglas
a Golf Course Architect of some 12 years practical experience.
The information is a representation of how -in the opinion of Nigel B Douglas- many of the most important issues of modern Golf Course Architecture can and should be processed, in a logical and practical manner.
Many of the issues addressed in this website are edited versions based on the book by Nigel B Douglas entitled

Several design "rules" are referred to and expounded upon in the website. It should be remembered that these "rules" are the self-imposed design rules as put in place by Nigel B Douglas. These rules are sometimes "broken" by him in his practice as a Golf Course Architect, but only under specific circumstances as dictated by local constraints and design experience.
It should be noted that the information contained in this website is not, nor should it be construed to be evidence of any scientific or mathematic study.
Since Golf Architecture is not a definitive discipline, there exists many areas where potentially contradictory trains of thought could be considered equally relevant. It should be remembered that this website endeavors to simplify and rationalise all issues according only to the experiences and theories of
Nigel B Douglas Golf Course Architect.
We are not contending that any issue contained or commented on herein is totally "right" or "correct", and indeed some issues may be proven to be somewhat innaccurate. This however is not the primary issue.
The intended use of the material is to give food for thought for those that concur that a logical commonsense approach should be used wherever possible to either promote or temper the creative and technical design and development approaches used in modern Golf Architecture.
This website should not be taken to be a do-it-yourself guide to Golf Course Architecture. The Author takes no responsibility for it being used as such, and recommends that a
reputable Golf Course Architect
be appointed to design and oversee the construction of all actual works.
